Razia Begum joined Ankur Kala as a young widow. Her intelligence and eagerness to learn enabled her to become adept at marketing and sales. Rosie picked up the skills of making Jams and Pickles. Today, Rosie is a resource person to other voluntary organisations. Today as a self made entrepreneur Rosie commands respect not only from her family, but also from her society.
Journey Of a Single Mother
Ansari Begum, joined Ankur Kala in 1992. She started learning the craft of Batik and Bandhni. Alongside she developed her social skills and became more confident in dealing with others. After 10 years in Ankur Kala, she decided to leave and work independently as a Batik Trainer. She currently divides her time between Ankur Kala and an independent boutique serving with her skills and knowledge.
Shibani Bagh, was orphaned at a young age. She joined Ankur Kala in 1985 in the Batik Department and was trained and worked in all Departments. Shibani learnt vegetable dye Since then she has done plenty of work with vegetable dye and Silk-Screen Printing.
Shibani's leadership qualities helped her grow in the Organisation and is currently serving as one of the Board members. She is now an independent woman, earning her own living and supporting her family members.

I currently work as a Senior workflow Specialist at TCS. My mother who worked at Ankurkala brought me up with the strong values she imbibed at her workplace and this has helped shape my approach to life.
From our Ankur Kala family to the world. Sahana has completed her Higher Secondary and is now a Sales Associate at Zudio, Tata Trend Limited. We are so proud of her.
My mother, Akbari, who used to work with Ankurkala, taught me the worth of hardwork and commitment. Despite having two children to look after , I decided to obtain a two wheeler license, I now work for Zepto.
